Findings: CL, CAR and FAR
During validation and verification, VVBs raise Clarification Requests (CL), Corrective Action Requests (CAR) and Forward Action Requests (FAR), and report how each was closed.
The three kinds of finding
| Finding | Used when |
|---|---|
| Clarification Request (CL) | The VVB needs more information to reach a conclusion. |
| Corrective Action Request (CAR) | Something does not meet the requirements and must be corrected. |
| Forward Action Request (FAR) | An issue must be checked at a later verification. |
These descriptions reflect common auditing practice. The Validation and Verification Standard sets how findings are handled.
Rules
- VVBs raise findings as needed and track their closure in the Validation or Verification Report.
- A Verification Report reports the closure of CLs and CARs, and the status of FARs from validation or earlier verifications.
- Every later VVB must review open FARs.
