Special cases
Programmes of Activities, project clusters, external and converted projects, and what happens in exigent situations.
Some projects follow additional rules. These articles explain the variations.
A Programme of Activities delivers reductions through many Component Project Activities (CPAs). CPAs can be added at verification, share the PoA’s reference number and crediting period, and must meet its eligibility criteria.
Several micro or small-scale projects with the same scope, methodology and technology can be validated, registered and verified together as one Project Cluster, while each keeps its identity.
A project registered with, or seeking registration in, another GHG programme is an external project. There are four classes, and each needs NCCF approval before registration starts.
A special provision lets projects registered under the CDM on or after 1 January 2016 convert to CR-I and receive MCUs from 1 January 2019, if they have not been issued CERs for 2019 or later.
When a health emergency, civil unrest or armed conflict makes consultation or a site audit unsafe, NCCF can approve alternatives: postponement, a site visit by an Independent Investigator, or a remote audit.
