About NCCF
The Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests (NCCF) is an Indian not-for-profit society that develops sustainability standards. It created and manages CR-I.
Who NCCF is
The Network for Certification and Conservation of Forests (NCCF) is a not-for-profit society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. It came into existence in January 2015 as a society of experts, professionals and stakeholders of natural resources, and develops India-specific, globally benchmarked sustainability standards.
NCCF’s role in CR-I
NCCF designs, develops and manages the Registry. Under the Programme Guide it:
- maintains and revises all Registry documents
- makes sure requirements are followed across the project and methodology cycles
- oversees the performance of VVBs
- registers projects and lists methodologies that comply
- issues and transfers MCUs based on verified results
- handles queries, complaints and appeals
- develops new methodologies, with external experts where needed
NCCF develops the Registry through open stakeholder engagement and remains unbiased towards all participants.
Other NCCF standards
NCCF also runs certification standards for forests, trees outside forests, non-wood forest products and other areas. See nccf.in and About CR-I.
