Monitoring and verification

For each monitoring period, the IPP prepares a Monitoring Report (MR). It is published for 21 days of consultation and verified by an empanelled VVB, which issues a Verification Report (VeR).

ProjectsLast reviewed 23 October 2026

Steps

  1. Prepare the Monitoring Report on the current template after monitoring the project for a defined period.
  2. Appoint a VVB for verification through the Appointment of VVB form, following the rotation rules.
  3. Send the MR and supporting documents to the VVB by email. The VVB checks completeness.
  4. The VVB submits the MR to NCCF for publication. NCCF publishes it for 21 days of consultation.
  5. The VVB verifies the project and prepares a Verification Report (VeR), addressing the consultation and NCCF comments.
  6. The VVB submits the request for issuance.

What the MR contains

The cover page, how the project was implemented, the data and parameters monitored, actual reductions or removals compared with the DPD estimates (with justification for any increase), safeguards and SDG updates, and, for AFOLU projects, reversal monitoring.

What the VVB checks

That the project was implemented as in the registered DPD, that monitoring followed the registered approach, the calculation of actual reductions over the full monitoring period, safeguards, SDG contribution and, for AFOLU, reversals. It applies materiality to find overstatement.

Changes and withdrawal

  • Change of VVB: before the request for issuance, email cri.projects@nccf.in with both VVB names and submit the Change of VVB form.
  • Withdrawal of an MR: before the request for issuance, through the withdrawal form. NCCF processes it within 5 working days. You can resubmit for the same or a different period.
