The project cycle at a glance
A CR-I project moves from design and listing, through public consultation and validation, to registration. Each monitoring period is then verified before MCUs are issued.
Steps
| Step | Who | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Design | IPP | Design the project with an approved methodology, consult local stakeholders, and prepare the DPD and SCR. |
| 2. Listing | IPP, NCCF | Submit the listing form with the DPD and SCR and pay the listing fee. NCCF checks completeness. |
| 3. Public consultation | NCCF | The DPD and SCR are published for 30 days of extended stakeholder consultation. |
| 4. Validation | VVB | An empanelled VVB validates the design and issues a Validation Report. |
| 5. Registration | VVB, NCCF | The VVB submits the request for registration. NCCF reviews within 21 working days; the Governing Council gives final approval. |
| 6. Monitoring | IPP | The IPP implements and monitors the project and prepares a Monitoring Report. |
| 7. Verification | VVB, NCCF | The Monitoring Report is published for 21 days of consultation, and a VVB verifies it. |
| 8. Issuance | VVB, NCCF | The VVB submits the request for issuance. After approval and payment of the issuance fee, NCCF issues MCUs. |
Steps 6 to 8 repeat for every monitoring period. Along the way a project may need permanent design changes or a renewal of its crediting period.
