The Detailed Project Document (DPD)
The DPD is the main design document for a project. It is prepared on the CR-I template, together with a Stakeholder Consultation Report (SCR), and submitted to an empanelled VVB for validation.
Documents you prepare
- Detailed Project Document (DPD): the project’s design, implementation and monitoring.
- Stakeholder Consultation Report (SCR): the local stakeholder consultation, environmental and social impacts and safeguards, and the extended stakeholder consultation.
Both use the current CR-I templates, available on the Templates page.
Cover page
The DPD cover page gives the title, methodology and sectoral scope, location, scale, IPPs and Delegate Entity, crediting period, start date, estimated net reductions, SD impact factor, reversal risk and buffer contribution, and the external project type if any.
What the DPD covers
- Project ownership and the Delegate Entity
- Project description: technologies and measures compared with the baseline, the mitigation approach and the expected annual reductions
- Scale and boundary
- Local stakeholder consultation
- Start date and crediting period
- Application of the methodology, including any deviations
- Baseline, additionality and estimates
- Monitoring approach
- Safeguards and SDG contribution

AFOLU projects also describe land ownership, environmental conditions, threatened species, flora and reversal risk. Programmes of Activities also describe the implementation plan, CPA locations and CPA eligibility criteria.
Confidentiality
Confidential information stays confidential, but methodology applicability, baseline, additionality and reduction estimates cannot be treated as confidential.
