KYC documents
Know Your Customer (KYC) checks confirm who you are before an account is opened. Individuals prove identity and address; organisations prove legal status, address, signatories and owners.
Why KYC is needed
KYC verifies the identity of each account holder. It follows the principles behind India’s anti-money-laundering rules, so the Registry cannot be misused, and helps the Registry understand who it is dealing with. An account is approved only after a successful KYC review.
- Individuals provide proof of identity, proof of address and a recent photograph.
- Organisations provide documents that verify their legal status, operating address, authorised signatories and beneficial owners.
