Former CEO of the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB), a constituent Board of the Quality Council of India (QCI), and national accreditation body for certification and inspection attached to Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and retired in July 2019 after 6 and a half years as CEO.

He has 44 plus years of experience in the field of quality, standards, certification, accreditation and technical regulations having worked earlier in the Bureau of Indian Standards, the national standards body, and the Export Inspection Council, India’s official export regulator and certification body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

He has supported a number of regulators in developing systems for use of third party inspection/certification in sectors such as food, oil and gas, medical devices etc.

He has also led development of a number of voluntary conformity assessment schemes across sectors from yoga professionals to medical devices to good agricultural practices (IndGAP and SAARCGAP) to food safety to private security agencies to traditional medicines to ayurveda trainings to fire safety in hospitals and

• Member of the CDM Accreditation Panel of UNFCCC since 2007
• Member of Boards of Yoga Certification Board, Naturopathy Registration Board and Ayurveda Training Accreditation Board set up by the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt of India.
• Member of the Accreditation/Approval Committee of ASI Gmbh, Bonn and ASI North America dealing with sustainability standards
• Evaluator for ISEAL Alliance, London for sustainability standards and certification schemes.
• Member, Steering Committee, Global Carbon Council, Qatar based carbon offset program
• Member, Governing Body, and Chairman, Certification Advisory Group, Network for Conservation and Certification of Forests, a non profit forestry related certification scheme owner
